Baseline and priorities report issued

The project team finished the work on its fundamental report about the baseline and priorities of the R-Mode Baltic project. It analyses in depth the available documents of International Maritime Organization (IMO), International Association of Marine Aids to Navigation and Lighthouse Authorities (IALA), International Telecommunication Union Radiocommunication Sector (ITU-R), European Maritime Radionavigation Forum (EMRF) and other organisations with respect to the user and system requirements for a backup system to GNSS. Based on that survey the target numbers for the R-Mode Baltic testbed design could be deduced and the requirements for the R-Mode system and service derived. Furthermore, the report summarises sources of errors for the accurate ranging signal transmission and reception which has to be considered during the R-Mode system development.
